The Lake Hall School Pavilion is a pro bono project for a non-profit group focused on saving and preserving a remaining wood framed reconstruction era schoolhouse building in northern Florida. Concept work was done by REID architecture PLLC to provide the non-profit with visual materials and a program concept for grant and funding applications. Once funds are secured to purchase the building and land, the project will be phased to allow for the erection of a diffused over-structure to protect the schoolhouse before and as it is rehabilitated. An elevated walkway positioned between the historic building and the new structure allows visitors to view the restoration work in progress, see historic artifacts associated with the schoolhouse buildings rich history, and hear audio of local inhabitants recorded stories establishing the importance of the Lake Hall School to the region and community.
